IPv6 Badge

The United States Federal Communications Commission Technological Advisory Council provides technical advice to the FCC and helps the FCC identify important areas of innovation and develop informed technology policies.

In a report titled “IPv6 Working Group Benchmarking Recommendations,” the FCC TAC addresses several key topics related to the adoption of IPv6. They are as follows:

  1. Recommendations and Guidelines
  2. Benchmarking
  3. Cost benefit analysis

The document outlines the key areas where IPv6 must be adopted, specifically related to benchmarking. Metrics and measurements for each of the key benchmarks are specified. Where possible, existing data sources are recommended to support the documented metrics and measurements.
